Compression yield strength and compression bending strength In the use of moulds, there is often high strength pressure and bending. This is why mould materials require a certain level of compressive and flexural strength. In many cases, the conditions of the compression and bending tests are close to the actual working conditions of the die (e.g. the measured compression yield strength of the die steel corresponds to the deformation force of the punch during operation). Another advantage of the bending test is the large absolute value of the strain, which can sensitively reflect differences in deformation resistance between different steel grades and under different heat treatment and microstructural conditions.

Toughness.

The h13 die steel is subjected to impact loads during operation. In order to reduce the extrusion die steel in the use of fracture, chipping and other damage, die steel must have a certain toughness.

Its chemical composition, grain size, purity, number, shape, size, distribution of carbides and inclusions, as well as the heat treatment system and the metallurgical organization obtained after heat treatment have a great impact on its toughness. In particular, the purity of the steel and hot work deformation on the transverse toughness of the more significant impact.
