Used to make plastic moulds with high corrosion resistance requirements, its main steel grades are 420,414L,440,416.

The term "ageing steel" refers to p20 ingots customised by ageing to give high serviceability. p21 low-carbon Ni-A1 ageing steel is available in two types, the other being 18Ni martensitic ageing steel. The latter material is carbon free, high purity, high strength and high toughness and is used in the aerospace industry. It is suitable for plastic moulds with high requirements for mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy, finish and corrosion resistance.

Select plastic mould steel.

Use P20, P21 pre-hardened state (HB250 ~ 300) as plastic thin-walled box batch production, when it is more corrosive then use 414L.

The use of long life of ordinary plastic mould, use P6 or P20, after carburizing and quenching treatment, hardness in HRC54-58 below; plastic parts of moderate size, available O1,S7. when the corrosion is stronger use 420.
