Type 103
A detailed drawing of the mould structure is required. It is a minimum hardness of 165 BHN for the mould embryo material.(1 steel/1040 steel, DME#) It is an internal mould steel of P20 (28 to 32 HRC) or a high hardness steel (36 to 38 HRC). Other requirements will depend on need.
104 Hot work mould steel
A drawing of the mould structure is required; it is the mould embryo material P20 (28~32HRC) available in soft steel or aluminium. (1040 steel) Internal moulds can be made of aluminium, soft steel or other qualified metal. Other requirements will depend on need.
Type V-5 hot work tool steel
Aluminium cast iron, epoxy or any material can be used to produce the minimum amount of tests as long as there is sufficient strength. The cost of materials generally accounts for 10% to 20% of the cost of mould production, while machining, heat treatment, assembly and administration account for over 80%.
