Selection of cold rolled mould steels.
The main series are high hard cold work class cold rolled die steels, mainly used for moulds requiring high pressure, wear resistance and hardness higher than HRC60-62. High impact resistance ductile moulds with hardness lower than HRC60-62, mainly using s-grade and some a-grade and the most common tempered steels, spring steels, hot moulds and base materials. Large moulds, such as automotive profile stampings, mainly of cast iron type. Use simple or low life zinc funds or polymer composites.
Rapidly increasing use of HSS and ultra-high speed steels in cold working moulds. Has a high compressive strength/hardness ratio. Its hardness can be between HRC60-70 and HRC60-70.
HRC60-62 powder mould steels have a good wear life, are not too hard and have a wide range of applications.
For 100,000-piece service life carbon tool steels, punches or soft material punches still have a range of application.
Pre-hardened hot work die steel according to the thermal strength of the arrangement of the main series of material selection:
(6G, 6F2, 6F3) Low alloy tempered die steel (H11, H12, H13) Chrome hot as die steel (H21, H22) Tungsten hot as die steel.
